Maritex composite bearings

A superior technology that exceeds the performance of other polymer and phenolic bearing materials. We are happy to have this unique material compared directly with products from our competitors such as Orkot, Thordon, Railko, Vesconite, Vespel, PEEK. If you really need the best bearing material, in many applications there is one clear leader giving significant operational and user benefits.

A very high performance bearing material with unique properties, very low moisture and more importantly thermal swelling, with the ability to operate at higher temperatures than other composites whilst showing no signs of creep or softening. In extremes of operation we are confident Maritex can out perform many if not all other composites. It also machines without smell or dust and is dimensionally stable at machining temperatures.

For marine shafts, Maritex is available as a straight replacement for rubber cutless bearings for shafts from 1" to over 10", bedded on epoxy they offer a confirmation of carrier alignment and easy installation, as well as easy removal. As the hard composite supports the shaft there is less shaft whip and hence vibration. Rubber allows the shaft to be deflected Maritex offers support. The latest Aquarius grade also resists marine growth on the shaft and bearing material a property which is not available with other materials.

Chemical - Industrial - Marine - Electrical

Maritex has the widest range of composite bearing materials available to ensure your systems keep operating effectively for longer in challenging environments. Capable of replacing other advanced reinforced polymer composite bearings and resulting in improved operation.

Maritex has shown great improvements over other bearing materials in large waste water pumps used in the oil refinery industry, any pump maintenance engineers in the refinery industries looking to improve bearing performance should consider Maritex.

Tube, bar, staves, sheets pads or strips. Hot acid, grease, water, oil or dry. High load or high speed.

Rudder - Stern Tube - Stabiliser - Naval projects - Deck equipment

Material available from stock for fast deliveries world wide, machined on site or provided finished.

Maritex is an advanced composite bearing material suitable for a very wide range of applications, we are also able to adjust the properties of the material to suit specialist applications. We are able to retain the very high mechanical strength of the material whilst introducing additives to alter the surface performance.

Tell us what you want from a bearing, let us try where others have failed, our experience is that you will change your bearing material and have a better product as a result.

You will find Maritex in stern tubes, rudders and stabilisers on a large number of craft from commercial to high performance military vessels, often having replaced the bearing material originally fitted. From deep sea pumps to grain augers, hydraulic wear rings to saw mill tables Maritex will have a material for your application.

Maritex has taken composite bearing technology to the next level and continues to improve and develop the product. Aquarius is a new grade which has just completed long term (400day) soak tests, this allows us to accurately determine immersed tolerances.

We have a large range of grades suitable for everything from hot acid to arctic oil applications, high speed sailing blocks to crane pulley blocks lifting over 600tonnes.

They all incorporate dry running technology that prevents bearing failure at critical times such as high load start up.

Low friction grades incorporate material into the structure thus retaining the very high load bearing properties.

Maritex can be supplied in tube, square, hollow square, discs or sheets. It machines easily without dust and virtually no smell, producing a swarf that is not flammable.
